Town and School Candidates May Use Merrimack TV!
If you're running for local office, Merrimack TV urges you to use the same resources that are available to you as a resident.
On Monday and Wednesday evenings we offer "Studio Production Night", a resident books one hour of studio time to create a program. There is no cost, but you must supply your own tape ("Mini DV", any brand except Sony) and come prepared with your material. Staff will create lower thirds (text), to identify you and your guests, as long as you supply us with your information in advance. While the staff will assist in the setup of the studio and video production, they will not edit, and your program can be as short as 3 minutes, but not exceed 27 minutes.
This is the easiest, most efficient way for a resident to create a "talking heads" program. It could be you and guests or you could do this solo, talking to the viewers. We're making an effort to keep the process exactly the same no matter if the resident is discussing sports, music, literature, or their campaign for local office. Any candidate is welcome and encouraged to utilize these resources, it's a great way express your opinions and state your goals if elected. There's an advantage in anyone's campaign to make use of community media.
Call us at (603) 423-8561 for further information. Our public hours are Monday through Thursday from 4PM - 9PM.
